Description

This design was inspired by a visit to the famous Waterlily House at Kew Gardens, where the extraordinary giant lily pads floating on the water's surface were captured on camera. Back in the studio, those photographs became the starting point for an original hand-drawn and hand-embroidered artwork. The lily pads, pond frogs, darting fish, and hovering dragonflies were all meticulously drawn in pencil before being brought to life using delicate thread and fine beading. Every creature in this design was observed, drawn, and stitched by hand before being faithfully translated into this luxury fabric.

Printed in England in a bold monochrome palette with jewel-bright flashes of colour, the turquoise frogs, iridescent dragonflies, and coral fish mirror the original embroidered accents, giving the design its signature warmth, elegance, and wit. It is an intricate, narrative print where there is always something new to notice. A true piece of Kew Gardens history for your home.
