STORY BEHIND THE ARTWORK

From Susannah's Botanical Collection, this design was inspired by the tropical plants and butterflies at the Botanic Gardens Kew, London combined with hummingbirds. Drawing from her photographs she created this design which was digitally printed onto cotton/silk fabric. Using a combination of silky, matt and metallic fine machine embroidery threads, she hand-stitched colourful detail and embellished with seed beads.
