The Greenwich Squirrel is part of Susannah Weiland's Royal Park Life collection — a series of original hand embroidered artworks celebrating the birds and wildlife of London's iconic royal parks. Working from a photograph Susannah took, her tonal pencil drawing of a grey squirrel was printed onto cotton-satin fabric and hand embroidered using fine machine embroidery threads, capturing the dense tufted fur, the long delicate whiskers and the utterly endearing concentration of this most familiar of park companions as it sits absorbed in its own quiet world.
