Hand Embroidery Collections
These collections bring together my hand embroidered works, developed through a process that combines observation, drawing, photography, and stitch. Each piece begins with a direct response to the natural world, which is then translated into drawn imagery and gradually built by hand using embroidery.
Hand embroidery is central to my practice and is used as a drawing tool to construct colour, texture, and form through repeated, deliberate marks. Time is an integral part of each work, with every piece evolving slowly into a unique composition shaped by process and attention.
The collections explore different subjects and themes — from fleeting moments of light in sunsets, to wildlife in London’s Royal Parks, and botanical forms combined with imagined elements. While each series has its own focus, they are unified by a consistent approach that moves between observation and interpretation, image and material.
Each work is entirely made by hand and is one of a kind. The collections below present different expressions of this process.
