Description

This design was inspired by a visit to Kew Gardens, spending time amongst the free-roaming peacocks that wander the grounds beneath the iconic Great Pagoda. The peacocks displaying their extraordinary feathered tails, the ancient trees, the park benches, and the wandering ducks were all sketched and photographed on site before becoming the starting point for an original hand-drawn and hand-embroidered artwork. Every element—from the towering pagoda to the smallest duck in the distance—was first drawn by hand in meticulous pencil detail, then brought to life with intricate embroidery and beading.

The result is a scenic wallpaper in the great tradition of Chinoiserie—a style beloved by English interior designers for centuries, here given a fresh and distinctly personal interpretation. Beautifully printed in England in a bold monochrome palette with hand-embroidered accents, it is a design of genuine drama and narrative depth.
